Say hi to Juliana! One of our Piano Tutors here at Dronfield Music Tuition.
Juliana is a musician and tutor teaching piano, recorder, Irish whistle and flute. She has 8 years of experience teaching music one-to-one, small group, whole class and ensemble contexts, working with all ages and abilities. Her approach to music education is from the perspective of the student, whether their goals are to learn a new skill, take examinations or just have fun and enjoy music-making!
Juliana is passionate about community work and has delivered interactive music workshops and projects in hospitals, care homes, schools and nurseries. Recently, Juliana completed her undergraduate degree in Music Performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and achieved a Distinction in an MA in Music Psychology from the University of Sheffield.

Additionally, Juliana has performed on TV, theatre and radio including for the BBC and the Royal Shakespeare Company. She plays whistles and recorders and sings in the folk fusion band ‘Shive Lights’ performing at venues throughout the UK.
Besides tuition, Juliana is also involved in a new improvisation-based project which draws on minimalism, early music and folk influences. Experience providing instrumental and backing vocals for numerous session recordings. She has been composing music for several projects, her influences draw upon Irish, Bulgarian and Japanese folk music.
A friendly, encouraging and imaginative tutor who plans her lessons on the basis that music-making should be experienced and enjoyed by all! Because of all this, it’s obviously a pleasure to have Juliana onboard!

- Can’t live without: “My fluffy white cat! He’s called Bowie and can be a bit grumpy/sassy but my private students that come to my house love him!”
- Break-time snack: “A cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit!!”
- Fun fact about Juliana: “As well as music, I like doing photography and graphic design, yoga and looking after my houseplants!”
