Charley

Charley, a musician from Lymm, Cheshire, specialises in Violin, Piano, Viola and Tenor Horn. She previously taught piano at Sheffield Flourish, and is a recent music graduate from the University of Sheffield (where she specialised in violin). Charley is currently studying a Masters in Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University, as she is passionate about psychology and particularly the field of music psychology. Charley is passionate about the arts – for her undergraduate final year project, she produced a podcast talking about music performance anxiety with the hope of reaching others who can relate and encouraging them to keep going with their musical/performance journey.

Charley has an array of instrumental experience, having started piano lessons from the age of 7, and over the last 14 years undertaken violin/viola and tenor horn lessons also and went on to achieve grade 8 in all 4 instruments. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching herself to learn new instruments to broaden her repertoire – such as ukulele, acoustic guitar and bass guitar.

Besides teaching, Charley has a wealth of performance experience from her engagement in ensemble performance through brass bands, string/symphony orchestras and musical pit bands during both high school and university. She has also recently progressed into a conductor role for her university brass band.
