Say hello to Joe!

Joe is the founder of Dronfield Music Tuition and teaches guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, vocals and drums. He had always dreamed of running his own music school, and after moving to Dronfield, he found the perfect opportunity to make that dream a reality.

Joe holds Grade 8 qualifications in guitar, bass guitar, vocals and ukulele, as well as a BA (Hons) degree in Popular Music and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. He has maintained a 100% pass rate for students taking RGT music exams and brings more than 15 years of international performance experience, over 10 years of private tuition experience and five years of teaching in local schools.

Alongside Dronfield Music Tuition, Joe runs 12th Fret Tuition Retreats. Originally launched as group guitar workshops for beginner, intermediate and advanced players, the sessions became a huge success in Sheffield. Joe has also performed with several successful local bands over the past 15 years. He played bass guitar in the metal band Downslide, brought the funk with Darkehorse and performed as a vocalist with the events band Electric Idols.

He has since joined the world-renowned tribute band UK Foo Fighters, taking on the role of Nate Mendel on bass guitar. The band’s frontman, Jay, famously performed on stage with Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters in 2014. Joe and Adele run the music school together and also help Greg with the running of Dronfield Music Studio. Away from music, Joe and Adele are raising their three boys together—so life is always busy, lively and full of music!
